Why upload.am

Why use SSO with upload.am

One login for staff

People use the account they already have in Okta, Microsoft Entra, Google Workspace or Keycloak. No extra passwords.

Domain verified

A DNS TXT record proves you own the domain, so nobody can claim your company’s addresses.

Automatic joining

A new employee signs in with their work account and lands in your team workspace with the right access.

Control stays with you

Your identity provider decides who can sign in. Remove a person there and they lose access.

upload.am vs. a typical file hosting service

Most free file hosts give you one thing: a link. upload.am is cloud storage and backup with built-in secure file sharing built in. Here is the difference for this feature:

On the free plan upload.am Typical file host

More than a file sharing link

Cloud storage, backup and secure sharing in one free account

upload.am is cloud storage and backup with secure file sharing built in: a cloud cabinet that keeps your files, a backup service that protects your folders and photos, a sync service that keeps your computer and your cabinet identical, and sharing controls (password, expiry, download limits) on top. One login, one storage pool, one set of links.

Cloud storage

25 GB free, folders, search, previews, versions and trash in your online file manager.

Backup service

The Windows app backs up the folders you choose. The Android app backs up photos, video, audio and contacts.

Sync service

Live sync in the Windows app keeps a folder identical on your PC and in your cabinet, including files added from the web.

Secure file sharing

Password, download limit, expiry, group links, Inbox and Drop Rooms.

How it works

You enter your provider’s OpenID Connect details in the team settings, then add a DNS TXT record to prove you own the domain. After verification, anyone who signs in with an address on that domain is signed in through your provider and added to the team.

SAML is not supported at the moment. Any provider that speaks OpenID Connect works.

Works together with

  • Roles and groups, so new staff get the right access.
  • Two-factor sign-in and new-device confirmation for accounts outside SSO.
  • The audit log, which records what each member does.
  • The invite-only-from-your-domains policy.

Which plans include it

SSO is included in Enterprise. See plans and pricing or book a demo.
