Accountable
A real company with a real address answers every abuse and DMCA report. No anonymous operator, no hidden owners.
upload.am is operated by Leads.am, based in Armenia. Live since 2013, still run by the same team that has to answer for every design decision on this site — including the ones a bigger company would rather not put in writing.
A free account here is already a working product: a real cabinet with folders and search, official Windows and Android apps, a no-logs VPN, password-protected links, download limits, burn-after-download, group links, a personal Upload Inbox, and a download page with no ads — not a stripped-down teaser for a paid tier. Paid plans exist to raise storage, maximum file size and retention; they were never meant to unlock features that should have been free from day one.
Uploads go straight to S3-compatible storage nodes we run, over presigned URLs — the same protocol the public API uses, so an integration built against it gets the exact same upload path as the website. That is also why resumable transfers, terabyte-scale plans and a free VPN on every account are things we can actually afford to give away on Free, instead of gating them behind the top tier.

Files live on storage nodes we run, not on a reseller’s markup of someone else’s cloud.
Export everything or erase your account yourself; payment records are kept without a link to you. GDPR page and Data Processing Agreement included.
A public API with the same upload protocol as the website, official apps for Windows and Android, and every plan listing exactly what it includes.
The recent additions were not marketing checkboxes: resumable uploads and downloads so a dropped connection on a 100 GB file does not cost you the whole transfer, and a locked trash window so a compromised account cannot be wiped clean in one click. The plan ladder moved to terabytes because a gigabyte-sized paid tier stopped meaning anything. Team workspaces, more storage nodes, and the same treatment for whatever turns out to be the next real gap — that is the actual roadmap, not a slogan.
